Hey All -
I thought it might be helpful to have all the info in a centralized location for updates about Chase - so people can check in whenever they want to know the status.
Here is the information as I know it. Sometime yesterday morning, Chase fell off an approximate 10 foot slide on his head. He was unresponsive, and was air lifted to a Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.
He suffered trauma to his brain, and he is in a medically induced coma. He has had reactive responses to pain, but has not responded to voice commands yet. He broke both sides of his jaw during the fall.
Overnight, things were status quo - he is still in very critical condition. He still has a breathing tube.
He has shown some signs of improvement moving his arms, trying to open his eyes, etc.
They have a CT scan scheduled for this morning to determine if the bleeding in his brain has gone down or not.
Today and tomorrow are very critical for him. Keep praying for his recovery, and for the doctors and nurses treating him.
I'll post with any updates.
I am a friend of Christina's from Florida and want to let you know my hear t andI thoughts are with you. As a mom I have never experienced this type of injury with my son.... but can imagine how tough you are being as you go through this... my prayers and well wishes are for chase and your family tonight.
ReplyDeleteHey Chase! Just thinking about some of the fun times we had when i babysat you! Like the time you and your sisters tipped over the dining rooms chair and made a jail, then locked me up in the middle! So many giggles shared that day! I am so proud of the progress you have made! You are one strong lil' man. You're me hero Chase! Keep going strong! You're doing so well! Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers! Stay strong. Love you!
